Priorities

The family was on a trip for the first time this weekend. We stayed the first night at a hotel by ourselves. The second night, my mother was to join us.

Our conversation the first night…

Me: Hey, maybe we can get my mom to babysit tomorrow night.

Wife: Ooh yeah, that would be nice.

Me: Yeah, maybe we can get a drink at the bar downstairs.

Wife: Oh. I was thinking we could take a nap.

It’s a bit sad when sleep is number one over sex, drinks AND Chocolate

  5. Although it’s what I’ve desperately wanted to do on many occasions, I’ve always felt far too guilty to call a babysitter in just to sleep! Baby-free time is too precious to waste sleeping (or even cleaning).

  6. ahh, the joys of sleep deprivation. I have to say it’s one thing I definitely don’t miss from my kid’s baby- and toddler-hood, and a big part of our decision that we definitely don’t want any more kids…

  7. Tough call on the either/or. Frankly, I’d opt for the beer, then the nap. Either way, you’re sans MIL, which is nice.
