What’s the meaning of life?
I posted this photo on my flickr page this week. I titled it, “What’s the meaning of life, Daddy?” The photo, taken by my wife from across the park near our home, makes me think of future talks with my son. Samantha Jo, in her comment on my flickr page, asked me how I answered “THAT one.”
And this is what I came up with…
“The meaning of life is an individual pursuit, Son. I found meaning when I first met your mother. And again when I first laid eyes on you and your sister. You will find your meaning when you least expect it. Just be ready to embrace it.”
What is the meaning of life to you?

Well, I could take the easy way out and say ’42′, but instead I’ll give my real meaning.
One of my favorite all-time quotes is from George Bernard Shaw; “Life contains but two tragedies. One is not to get your heart’s desire; the other is to get it.” And that ties into my meaning of life of “Live the life you wish to live, and don’t want the lives of others…”
Hokey? Yes. True? I think so. Inspired by my kids? Ab. So. Lutely.

And I was going to comment that you did good. I would have chicken out and said, “What do YOU think it is sweetie?”
